If you're seeking an authentic Homestay experience during your visit to Rantepao (South Sulawesi), look no further than Ne' Pakku Manja Family Home.
Our house is nestled in the heart of a traditional Torajan village that has stood for over 240 years, with eight generations of my family calling it home. By staying with us, you'll become immersed in the genuine and simple lifestyle of the local people from our village.
My name is Meyske, and I am honored to welcome you to Ne' Pakku Manja Family Home. The name "Ne' Pakku" belongs to my late grandfather, and "Manja" is the name of my beloved grandmother. Although my grandfather passed away in 2001, I am fortunate to live in this house with two incredible women: my grandmother and my mother. As you enter our home, you become a cherished member of our family. Please feel free to make yourself completely at home and embrace the warm and inviting atmosphere we offer.
Located just 15 minutes away from Rantepao city center by public transport, our peaceful house offers a true taste of the Torajan tribe experience. You'll have the opportunity to mingle with the locals, savor traditional culinary delights, and witness the unique customs that define our tribe. As dawn breaks, you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery from our balcony, with the sun gradually rising in front of you, enveloped in a mystical morning mist. And be prepared for a friendly wake-up call from our resident rooster!
For an enhanced experience, I can also be your personal tour guide, taking you on a journey to discover more about our rich traditions and explore both popular and off-the-beaten-path destinations. If the timing aligns, we might even have the chance to attend a traditional Torajan funeral, an event deeply rooted in our culture.
Welcome to Tana Toraja, a land of mystery and warm-hearted people. We sincerely hope that you'll fall in love with our place and create unforgettable memories during your stay.
Looking forward to hosting you!
Bless,
Meyske
