Warung - Sop Ubi Ma Uni
Local Warung serving a traditional Soup made from Casava. They are also serving tasty Mie Goreng.
Warung - Masakan Padang Ranah Minang
Here the food is displayed in the shop window and you simply choose what you like: fish, shrimp, chicken and vegetables in different variations.
Warung - Dapoer Panglion (Mie Pangsit)
Mie Pangsit (also called Mie Ayam) is Noodles with Chicken Meat on the top and a little bit of vegetables. Here it is served with a soup besides the plate with the Noodles. Located in a small side street close to the soccer field.
Warung - Eco Podomoro
Warung Dapoer Panglion is often closed. This is a good alternative for Mie Pangsit nearby.

My favourite Warung for Bakso in Rantepao. Bakso Babi is a clear soup with meatballs from pig served along some dumplings. You can add noodles if you like.
Warung - Nasi Kuning Muslim
When you arrive with the night bus in the early morning you can eat here. Only open in the morning!
Streetfood - Nasi Kuning, Nasi Campur and more (from 6pm)
Starting from around 6 pm there are a lot of street sellers selling their food close to the junction with the tongkonan statue on the main street. Cheap and good! We highly recommend the last tent on the side of the road on the side facing the direction of travel to our accommodation.
Streetfood - Soccer Field
A lot of simple food sold around the soccer field starting in the early afternoon. Cheap!
Restaurant - Cafe Aras
If you want to meetup with other tourists around Rantepao you will probably find a lot of them here. You can try one of the traditional torajan specialties here: Pa’Piong.
Restaurant - Soundana Kalua Resto & Cafe
Nice Restaurant located a little bit outside the rushing center of rantepao directly besides some ricefields serving fresh grilled fish and more.
Restaurant - Randan Uma Coffee Roastery (Closed on Tuesdays)
Good Coffee and fresh grilled Fish located directly on the opposite side of Hotel Santai Toraja. A nice view towards the ricefields from there.

Toraja is quite famous for his good & tasty coffee. There are a lot of stores selling Arabica and Robusta in this street. We buy our coffee here.
